Earlplace has completed the construction of Leamington’s “state of the art” care home on the Kenilworth Road.
The building was handed over to the operator, Methodist Homes for the Aged, earlier this week.
Tim Malby, Earlplace’s Managing Director told the Courier, “Despite some local resistance to our proposals at the planning application stage in 2008, we have received countless compliments from Leamington residents now the building is finished. It really does make a positive addition to Kenilworth Road and the Conservation Area. Perhaps equally as important is the fact that we have also been receiving a large number of enquiries from potential residents of the home, highlighting our argument that the area has been crying out for a modern care home that provides dignified surroundings”.
Earlplace were also able to announce that they have simultaneously sold the freehold of the property to investment fund Aprirose for in excess of £7.5million, a price believed to have set a new record in the sector.
Methodist Homes for the Aged will take occupation of the building shortly and are working with Earlplace on plans to provide further modernised extra care facilities at their other property on Kenilworth Road which will close.
